Yoga In The City

The Yoga In The City event organized by Shape Magazine in collaboration with Pure Yoga was exclusively for ladies. It was a lovely event that took place on a beautiful Sunday morning on 29th April, at Dhoby Ghaut Green.

Everyone woke up bright and early to be at the green at 6:45 am to start a yoga class taught by Copper Crow at 7am sharp.
As the class began the sky slowly started turning golden as the sun began to rise over the horizon, and it coloured the clouds beautiful shades of yellow, orange and pink. A fantastic way to start a Sunday morning.

Copper lead the class with 6 other teachers from Pure walking around to check on people, giving them a helping hand with their alignments where needed (Cynthia, Gadi, Rene, Tryphena, William, and me!)

At the end of the yoga class William and Tryphena demonstrated amazing flow sequences where they demonstrated strength and flexibility in perfect harmony.

Overall it was a nice event to give ladies a chance to try out yoga, if they had not tried it before. It was a rwell organised event, although I felt the distribution of the goody bag and breakfast box after the yoga class could have been better. As the long queue was very disruptive to the flow of the event, and I believe a lot of people actually left because of it.

Nevertheless I am sure next year’s event will attract even more people!

Temples of Ankor – Siem Reap, Cambodia

During my first trip to Siem Reap I spent 2 whole days exploring the temples of Ankor. It’s a beautiful and inspiring place. Definitely a must see. I would love to go back there again to visit the far out temples I missed on this trip.

While exploring the temples I suddenly felt compelled to do some yoga :)

Ardha Padmasana Vrksasana – Mount Batur, Bali

After climbing up Mount Batur, we sat for a while to watching the sun rise, to enjoy the view and witness the moneys stealing people’s breakfast. It was pretty chilly up there and I use what ever I could find to stay warm.

Yoga & Spa Party

The yoga and spa party on Saturday 8th July was a great event! A group of 15 ladies congregated together to relax, chat, eat and do yoga.

The spa facilities from Aleyda Spa were fantastic; there were proper spa beds to facilitate for the facial and massage services. Then there were also cute stations set up for the manicure and pedicure. Because the event had so many ladies, all the services were express, although that didn’t compromise the quality of service at all! The service was excellent and the ladies from Aleyda gave it that “little extra” to make everyone feel special.

Visit www.aleyda.com.sg to find out more.

Here are some photos of the event
